Utsav Camp Experiences
Safaris, nature walks, private bush dinners and excursions... explore Utsav Camp’s signature experiences.
Our private jungle safaris into unexplored wilderness allow you an experience that is at once intimate and reveals the boundless expanse of nature.
Four different routes meander through the 1,300 sq km area that covers Sariska National Park. Utsav Camp offers private morning and afternoon safaris through the park to explore the unique wildlife, fauna and flora. Routes are selected based on real-time information about tiger and other large cat sightings from the park.
Every safari experience is unique because the deciduous forest and wildlife change with the seasons and times of day. Your safari experience is prefaced with an orientation in our library by your guide to answer questions and prepare you for your safari adventure.
Our morning safaris depart bright and early at 6:00am as the sun is rising. You will experience a glorious array of over 280+ species of birds as you explore Sariska National Park. Our afternoon safaris can include a high-tea served outdoors surrounded by the boulders and bush.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the ancient Neelkanth Temple is a scenic 40 minute jeep excursion from Utsav Camp.
You will pass through small villages, rural hamlets, and farmlands that will transport you to another place and time dotted with men and women shepherding goat, sheep and buffalo.
The ancient temple is accessible only by a steep and mostly unused road that features picture-perfect mountain-top, panoramic views of the Tehla region.
The temple itself dates back to the 6th - 10th century CE and is still a living temple that devout pilgrims visit despite the challenging journey to get there. The temple is cared for by a lineage of priests that is honored just outside the temple beneath a hundreds of years old pipal tree, beneath which you will often find peacocks roaming about.
Scattered around the temple, you will find fragments of ancient carvings from other temples and structures that once covered the area. It’s believed that at one time there were over 380 temples in the area.
Also nearby is a tall and graceful carved sculpture of Jain Tirthankara Shantinath that dates back to the 10th century CE.
The Neelkanth Temple site is recognized by the Archeological Survey of India and the ASI is in the process of collecting and preserving these ancient and profound artifacts.
