Birdwatching

Utsav Camp Sariska’s exclusive birding tour is a must for bird lovers, and amateur and professional ornithologists! Our naturalists have identified over 280+ species of native and migratory birds in the Tehla region of Sariska.

Choose from an early morning or late afternoon departure with an Utsav Camp naturalist to help you spot and identify a variety of birds. The golden hours for birding are close to sunrise or sunset when birds are most active. Depending on the time of year, our naturalist will select the best locations for a wide variety of bird sightings.

Nearby Malana and Mangalsar feature seasonal and permanent water bodies where you will catch sightings of Spot-Billed Duck, Northern Shoveler, Northern Pintail, White-Breasted Waterhen, Common Moorhen, Common Coot, Black-Winged Stilt, Whiskered Tern, River Tern & more.

The low-lying scrub forests in the Tehla region are home to many smaller birds like Black-Shouldered Kite, White-Eyed Buzzard, Peregrine Falcon, Jungle Bush Quail, Plum-Headed Parakeet, Pied Crested Cuckoo, Brainfever Bird and more.

The scrub forest provides ample places to hide and camouflage from natural predators like larger birds, small carnivorous mammals, reptiles and snakes while foraging for insects and seeds that form their diet.
